Boost pressure

More pressure - more power

In combustion engines, the air pressure in the intake line is referred to as boost pressure. With supercharged engines, this is indicated relative to the air pressure in the surrounding atmosphere. This is also known as "pre-compaction". If the engine is not charged, the value is given as an absolute value for the pressure in the intake tract. The value is measured directly behind or in front of the throttle valve.
